P6 Archaeology Workshop
15th Nov 2024
On Wednesday our primary 6 children visited the Newry and Mourne Museum for a workshop led by the Centre for Community Archaeology (CCA) from Queen’s University Belfast.
This workshop gave children the chance to engage with archaeology, helping them understand how we uncover stories of the distant past and learn about people’s lives through the objects they left behind. The children studied ancient artefacts, and drew scale plans for ancient ruins.
The children all enjoyed the experience, and might even be inspired to become archaeologists when they leave school.
