Our first novel of the year is the infamous ‘Charlotte’s web’. Since September, we have been enjoying reading the book, finding out more about the characters ( traits and characteristics) and watching the story unfold. This week, we have incorporated drama into our literacy lessons, and the children had to work collaboratively to create a ‘freeze frame’ of a scene of their choice. Freeze frames offer a useful way of capturing and conveying meaning. Each group had to present their scene, with the rest of the class asking targeted questions with the objective of finding out the groups chosen scene.
They all thoroughly enjoyed this activity, displaying their oral, body language and group work skills.
