Pupils were developing an understanding of the terms ‘fiction’ and ‘non-fiction’, noting some of their differing features e.g. layout, titles, contents page, use of pictures and labelled diagrams.
We discussed the features of both types of books. Pupils worked in partners to sort books into the titles of fiction and non-fiction.
