Caring, Kindness, and People Who Help Us: A Special Visit from Nurse Brady!
This week at nursery, we combined the themes of Anti-Bullying Week and People Who Help Us with a very special visit from one of our amazing parents, Nurse Brady. She came in to talk to the children about her important work as a nurse and to teach them how being kind and helping others can make the world a better place.
Nurse Brady brought along some fascinating medical equipment, including bandages, child-safe syringes, plasters, a stethoscope, and eye torches. She also introduced us to Ellie the Elephant, who had a little tumble and needed the children's help to feel better. With Nurse Brady’s guidance, the children worked together to bandage Ellie’s injuries, check her eyes, and give her lots of care and attention to get her back on her feet.
This activity not only taught the children about the important role nurses play in helping people, but also highlighted how small acts of kindness—like helping a friend or comforting someone in need—can make a big difference. It was a fantastic way to reinforce the message of Anti-Bullying Week: to be kind, caring, and look out for one another.
A big thank you to Nurse Brady for taking the time to share her knowledge and for showing the children how people like her make a positive impact every day.
