Calculating the Area of Shapes- P.1 Miss Cunningham's Class 😀

This week the children were introduced to the concept of area as the idea of covering a surface. At the beginning of the week the boys and girls calculated the area of a range of shapes using cm². The children calculated the area of a number of items around the classroom, for example, 2D shapes, books and rulers. After that, using the dimensions provided the children drew their own shapes. The boys and girls had great fun this week calculating the area of shapes.
